Ventral Abdominal Hernia..

As I was recently diagnosed with what doctors called a Ventral Abdominal Hernia, the pain I was in urged me to immediately become relentless in the search for natural remedies as opposed to opting for surgery. I had a lot of bed rest to find answers and come about my research. They informed me that it would be possible, but it would take longer in the process and be more painful. However, I was looking at a long-term cure and eventually I found that there would be a significant amount of small micro-fixes that would potentially make the biggest impact on my recovery. I turned to the saying, “an army of ants can take down an elephant”, and that is how this article came abroad.

An Ape’s Bestfriend

When people first think of fruits that are healthy for them, the first fruits which usually come to mind, are apples, lemons or even oranges. It is indeed rather fortunate that people fail to understand that bananas are actually incredibly healthy and ought to be eaten on a daily basis! You can’t even begin to imagine the nutrient quality factors I found that pertain specifically inside of a banana. So, if you are still unsure of what the actual health benefits of a banana are, but are eager to know, then do read on!

Banana is an Excellent Source of Potassium

When you eat bananas, you can rest assured that your body will be getting its desired doses of potassium. Potassium is an essential mineral that helps the body in an array of ways. Some of these ways include-

  • Helping to keep the heart healthy and prevent strokes
  • Aids in regulating blood pressure
  • Effective in ensuring that the bones remain strong and don’t get brittle

Apart from the benefits of potassium which have been mentioned above, potassium also suppresses calcium excretion in the urine and this in turn prevents the formation of kidney stones.

Increases Energy Levels

Nowadays the market is full with all kinds of energy drinks, tablets or even snacks. Yet, the fact of the matter is that no one really understands the implications of eating these snacks. So rather than opting for these commodities, which are so high in sugar. It is a better option to just eat a banana the moment you notice that your energy levels are going down. It is for this very reason that many athletes make it a point to eat bananas as often as possible. Tennis players especially, make it a point to eat bananas during half time, to ensure that their energy levels do not drop. Another reason why athletes love bananas is because they aid in increasing energy levels without making them put on any unnecessary weight.

Effective in Improving Digestion

Digestion was an important factor in the Abdominal Hernia recovery process since increased constipation could potentially cause severe pain in my bowel and possibly cut off circulation.

We do indeed live in a fast paced world, where people forget about the value of time in taking care of their health. So, if you are
someone who has digestive problems, but are unwilling to take a laxative then, it would delight you to note, that instead of opting for medication, eating bananas on a regular basis is sure to improve your bowel movement and prevent constipation. After all, bananas are a GREAT source of dietary fiber.

An organic approach is a healthier long-term alternative choice that the greater population tend to skip on due to the further increased efforts one has to put in. Rather, the choice people impulsively look to is a “quick fix” medicinal approach since we want results NOW. This compromises curing the ROOT of the problem, in return for a subtle option of only “masking the pain” for short-term effects.

Apart from being a rich source of dietary fiber, bananas are also rich in FOS (fructo-oligosaccharides) which is a useful prebiotic that also aids in digestion.

Painless Cure for Both Ulcers and Heart Burn

Heartburn is indeed a common problem today, so rather than popping any pills unnecessarily, all you need to do is start eating more bananas! Bananas decrease heart burn; by balancing the pH levels enhance the protective layer of the stomach. This automatically helps in relieving pain and then preventing the sensation of heart burn.

As mentioned above, bananas aid in the enhancement of the protective mucus layer of the stomach and in getting rid of any unnecessary stomach bacteria that go on to become ulcers.

Rich Source of Vitamin B6

Bananas are a very high source of Vitamin B6 and this vitamin is very essential for creating hemoglobin for healthy blood. Apart from this vitamin B6 helps the body in an array of other ways. These include-

  • Maintaining proper sugar levels in the body
  • Breaking down, as well, effectively synthesizing amino acids
  • Creating anti bodies to help the body fight against diseases

To keep your body healthy, all you will need to do is have at least one banana every day. Apart from being a rich source of vitamin B6, bananas are also a great source of- manganese, magnesium, vitamin C, zinc, iron, as well as iodine!

Cures an Array of Skin Conditions

Believe it or not, even the skin of the banana is beneficial in curing skin related problems like acne and psoriasis.

For acne and psoriasis treatment, all you will need to do is rub the freshly peeled banana on the affected area. Once the skin has dried out then remove it and wash the area with plain water. Doing this at least once or twice a week is sure to yield rich dividends in the time to come.

Effective in Reducing Stress and Improving the Mood

Bananas are indeed a very good source of the amino acid, tryptophan. What many people don’t know is that this amino acid helps the body in a number of ways. Firstly, it gets converted into serotonin, which helps in reducing stress levels in the body. Additionally, it also aids in regulating one’s sleep patterns as well. It is for this reason that when people are suffering with many mental issues like depression, mood swings, or even acute stress, the first things doctors usually do is prescribe bananas. This is because unlike with pills, eating bananas involves no side effects.

Apart from being a great way to fight a hangover and a possible cancer fighter, bananas have an array of health benefits, which most people aren’t even aware of. So, rather than resorting to any unnatural ways to stay fit or be healthy, it is a much better idea, to simply eat at least one to two bananas every day! Bananas are also a great inclusion in your diet, especially if you are someone who is trying your best to lose weight!

It is funny I ran into this post. I was having muscle cramps a lot and they were starting to worry me. A friend of mine said if I start to eat bananas regularly it would help with the problem. Is there any truth to that?

    Hi Ronnie!

To answer your question, yes! Indeed a banana will highly assist in the break down of muscle cramps due to the high levels of the electrolyte, potassium, being a major source of muscle fuel.

I’m so sorry to hear about your medical situation. I’m all too familiar with bed rest and waiting as a “cure” for a painful situation. But wow, I never realized the symptoms that can be resolved with something so simple. If bananas can help reduce stress, I think I’ll be eating them much more often now.

I have had a hard time keeping bananas on hand because I like them kind of green and they go brown fast in my climate. So when I get them, I have fresh bananas for a day or two, then I peel and freeze the rest and add them to my shakes.

    Hi Jaime!

Freezing them is something I incorporate in my morning smoothies as well. However, they do lose a percentage of nutrients so of course it’s always best to enjoy them in their natural state. Overall I’m glad to hear you have found this post beneficial to your health.

Who knew that a banana could have so many positive affects. I had no idea it could help reduce hernia pain. I also didn’t know it could help cure acne, which is great. I will definitely have to incorporate a banana into my diet more often. Thanks for this post.

Who new the humble banana could have so many great health benefit and taste so good.
Banana is one of our family favourite fruits. We all normally eat one a day.

Do you lose all the benefits if you cook the bananas?

    Arturo · January 28, 2018 at 7:48 pm

    Hi Vince!

I’m glad to hear your family eats at least a banana a day as I’m sure you’ve began to see the benefits that stand behind that option. You do not lose “all” the benefits but you do lose a percentage. It’s best to eat them in their natural state. 🙂
